That state beyond all misery where only Bliss exists !!

May 18, 2015 in Damaghosa Dasa by Yasoda nandana dasa

Hare Krsna-below is a few paragraphs, Srila Prabhupada nicely explains how we are deluded into thinking we are working for ourselves, but in actuality it is always for “others”. And if we work only for Krsna, then Maya, the illusory energy will not touch us-which translates as -NO MORE SUFFERING !!!

Prabhupāda: This one word, pārakyasya is very important. If you work… Somebody is working very hard, nobody is interested to work very hard for others. That is not the material philosophy. Everyone wants his own satisfaction, means sense gratification. So those who are in the bodily concept of life, they are working for their bodily sense gratification. But if we consider philosophically, we’ll see that even this body does not belong to me. Therefore it is a very important word, pārakyasya. From the very beginning. The body was given by father and mother. So if anyone creates something, so that thing belongs to the creator. If the father and mother has created this body, then from the very beginning the body belongs to the father and mother. And actually, in the childhood, as the father and mother says, “Sit down here, eat this, don’t go there,” everything is controlled by the father and mother, and originally given by the father and mother. So how we can claim, “This is my body”? From the very beginning. Then somebody maintains you. Suppose you are working in office, in a factory. So actually that body belongs to him, the maintainer. Just like a dog. The master maintains it, and the dog’s body is meant for the service of that master. As soon as the master indicates, “You do this,” immediately he does it. A dog has no independence, practical. So in this way the body belongs to the master. In the beginning, body belongs to the father and mother. Then, if you grow up, then body belongs to your country. In this way, go up to the death point, and after death also, the body belongs to others.

So this is called ajñānam. If you work for your own thing, there is some sense. But if you are working for others only, you have no claim, and day and night, hard work, then what is that intelligence? That is ass’s intelligence. Ass. Ass just like works very hard, not for himself. He works for the washerman, for carrying tons of cloth on his back and for a morsel of grass. So in the actual sense also, if you go to see a gentleman, busy gentleman, businessman, ask him that “We want to talk with you something about Kṛṣṇa consciousness.” “Oh, I have no time. I have no time, sir.” “Why?” “I am very busy.” “Why you are busy?” “For business.” “What is this business for?” “For maintaining my family.” So in this way, ultimately, he is thinking he is working for himself, but he is working for others.

So our intelligence is, if we have to work for others and sacrifice this body for others, why not for Kṛṣṇa? That is our philosophy. If I am whole time, whole duration of life, I am working for others… Others means, ultimately, my senses. The senses are others. Kāmādīnāṁ kati na katidhāpālitā durnideśāḥ. My senses dictating, “You stick to this woman and go to hell.” “Yes, I am ready. Yes.” Kāma, lust. So I am servant of the lust. Neither I am servant of the woman or servant of this man or that man. I am servant of my lust. And the lust is dictating that “You do this nonsense.” “Yes, I’ll do. Yes, I’ll do.” So in this way, we are actually servant of our senses and the dictation of the senses. This is our position. Kāmādīnāṁ kati na katidhā pālitā durnideśāḥ. Durnideśameans… Nirdeśa means direction, and durnideśa means bad direction. Just like people, they are doing so many sinful activities for maintaining this body. But at the ultimate analysis the body belongs to somebody else. So we are fool, that I am doing so much sinful activities for others. This is sense. But one… Everyone is under this ignorance.Although he is working for others, he is thinking “I am working for myself, for my interest.” Na te viduḥ svārtha-gatiṁ hi viṣṇum [SB7.5.31].
. Philosophy means to see the actual fact. That is called philosophy. So if we philosophically take all these things, we are working for others out of ignorance, and I am thinking that “It is my interest. It is my self-interest…” Actually, you have to work for others. That is your business. And that other is Kṛṣṇa, not this material world. I have to work for others. Because I am servant originally. Jīvera svarūpa haya nityakṛṣṇadāsa [Cc.Madhya 20.108-109]. That is the constitutional position of every living entity, a servant. He cannot be master. If you don’t become servant of Kṛṣṇa, then you have to become a servant ofmāyā. You cannot be master of māyā. That is notpossible. Masteromāyā is Kṛṣṇa. Mama māyā.Daivī hy eṣā guṇamayī mama māyā [Bg. 7.14]. A master can control māyā, but we are not master. We are servant. How we can control māyā? It is impossible. But if you become servant of Kṛṣṇa,māyā will not touch you. That’s all. Mām eva ye prapadyante yām etāṁ taranti te [Bg. 7.14].You cannot control māyā. That is not possible, because you are servant. If you don’t become servant of Kṛṣṇa, you must become servant of māyā.

Solid proof how the leaders in Iskcon have become mis- leaders-and the results of that !

May 18, 2015 in Damaghosa Dasa by Yasoda nandana dasa

Room Conversation — April 22, 1977, Bombay : 770422r3.bom :
Tamāla KṛṣṇaWell, I have studied myself and all of your disciples, and it’s clear fact thatwe are all conditioned souls, so we cannot be guru. Maybe one day it may be possible…

Prabhupāda: Hm.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: …but not now.

Prabhupāda: Yes. I shall choose some guru. I shall say, “Now you become ācārya. You become authorized.” I am waiting for thatYou become all ācārya. I retire completely. But the training must be complete.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: The process of purification must be there.

Prabhupāda: Oh, yes, must be there. Caitanya Mahāprabhu wants that. Āmāra ājñāya guru hañā [Cc. Madhya 7.128]. “You become guru.” (laughs) But be qualified. Little thing, strictly follower…

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Not rubber stamp.

Prabhupāda: Then you’ll not be effective. You can cheat, but it will not be effective. Just see our Gauḍīya Maṭha.[or iskcon today] Everyone wanted to become guru, and a small temple and “guru.” What kind of guru? No publication, no preaching, simply bring some foodstuff... My GuruMahārāja used to say, “Joint mess,” a place for eating and sleeping.Amar amar ara takana (?)(Bengali): “Joint mess.” He said this.  ( Room Conversation — April 22, 1977, Bombay : 770422r3.bom :)

Below we have a photo of a diety room in one Iskcon temple. This scene is quite typical all over the Iskcon world-so many “gurus” pictures lined up all waiting to be worshiped by their neophyte and foolish “disciples”. The above conversation with Srila Prabhupada and TKG, took place only 7 months before Prabhupadas departure-and yet TKG here admits that he and all the other disciples were NOT qualified yet to become guru-acarya of Iskcon. And yet they illegally did it anyway. This is how the  whole problem began-conditioned souls “assuming”, without authority, the post of Acarya due to envy of our Acarya Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krsna.

And as everything should be judged by the results–here below are some of the results in the Iskcon Vancouver BC Canada temple where all the resident devotees cannot even rise for mongol arotik daily, what to speak of anything else. The only devotees present for mongol arotik is one lone old Prabhupada disciple who wakes the Deities, offers Them mongol arotik and some sweets, then later on all the resident devotees straggle in-whenever they feel like coming.
Just see below how they care for their own temple by how they have let the grounds detiorate.
Below is the temple sign out front on the main road-see how badly it looks-and the picture below shows how the sign board-Founder Acarya-A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada has become detached from the Iskcon sign board and is now laying on the ground !!  These three pictures say a thousand words. Due to neglect, by the followers, Srila Prabhupada is detached from Iskcon and is now laying on the ground while all of them comfortably sleep in their apts.
Back in the early 1970’s Srila Prabhupada told us he had a dream where Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was withdrawing His mercy from the Gaudiya Matha, because of their disibedience to their Acarya Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaj, and giving it to Iskcon instead. Seems like history is repeating itself now in another form.

C.C. names who does NOT get the mercy of God

May 18, 2015 in Damaghosa Dasa by Yasoda nandana dasa

TRANSLATION
“If the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is not bestowed upon a person-regardless of how learned a scholar that person may be and regardless of his seeing or listening-he cannot accept Lord Caitanya as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

PURPORT
The same principles can be applied to demoniac persons, even though they be in the sampradāya of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Without receiving the Lord’s special power, one cannot preach His glories all over the world. Even though one may celebrate himself as a learned follower of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and even though one may attempt to preach the holy name of the Lord all over the world, if he is not favored by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu he will find fault with the pure devotee and will not be able to understand how a preacher is empowered by Lord Caitanya. One must be considered bereft of the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu when he criticizes the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement now spreading all over the world or finds fault with this movement or the leader of the movement.     Link to this page: http://prabhupadabooks.com/cc/madhya/11/103

Curing the madman disease–SP

May 8, 2015 in Articles, Damaghosa Dasa by Nityananda Rama dasa

Hare Krsna-
Below we have cuttings from two different lectures. The first one Srila Prabhupada explains how everybody here in this material world is a madman. And later on he also admits he himself was also trying to stay here, but Krsna crushed all his “plans” and removed all impediments due to his bhakti for Him.

So the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is to make the nityabaddhas again nityasiddha, to bring them. It is a difficult task. Just I was talking in the morning, it is very difficult task to… Just like a madman. A madman, to again bring him to the normal life is very difficult task. You have got in your country so many institutions. So the whole world, anyone who is in this material world, he’s a madman.

When a man becomes ghostly haunted and he talks all nonsense… Similarly, anyone who is within this material world, they are all madmen. And Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement means to cure them by this treatment. So if anyone accepts this treatment, then he can make progress very quickly. Just like any madman, if he is under proper treatment, there is hope of his being cured. But the modern education is that to keep him madman. That is the defect of modern civilization. Everyone is madman within this material world, and the modern education is to keep him madman. Therefore they cannot understand our philosophy. This Kṛṣṇa consciousness philosophy is very bona fide and most essential philosophy. Madman cannot understand, but that does not mean the process of treatment should be stopped. No. It must go on. It cannot be stopped.
Here in this material world we are trying to become happy. Just like in your country is supposed to be most advanced in material civilization. They are trying to be happy. But we can see even in this New York City, nobody wants, still, twenty-four hours there is blazing fire: “gan-gan-gan-gan-gan-gan-gan-gan-gan. Stop this. Why there is blazing fire? Nobody wants it. But there must be, because you are in the material world. However big, big skyscraper building you may have, you have to suffer. But these dull brain cannot understand, because madmen.

So this dull brain has to be cured. All rascals, mūḍha. It is a fact. Namāṁ duṣkṛtino mūḍhāḥ prapadyante narādhamāḥ [Bg. 7.15]. Duṣkṛtina means simply unnecessary wasting time adjusting things materially. This is miscreants. They do not know that “For one type of advantage, I have to create hundred times disadvantage.” This is the fact. We are coming from New Vrindaban. They are living very comfortably in open space. There is no such disturbance, twenty-four hours, “dung-dung-dung-dung-kah-kah-kah-kah-kah.” No. (laughter) No disturbance. But you have created some advantages to live in the skyscraper building. There are so many disadvantages also. So therefore sometimes the Indians are accused that “Believe in destiny.” But that is actual fact. You cannot improve a single inch than you are destined. That is not possible. That is not possible. If you want to increase your so-called happiness, then you simply waste your time. That is Prahlāda Mahārāja’s instruction. Na tat prayāsaṁ kartavyam. “I am not in a good position economically. Let me try to improve it.” That you cannot. Otherwise in New York City, so opulent, so materially advanced, why we see so many men in the Central Park lying on the bench? Why? They do not belong to the poor nation or poor city. Still, because he’s destined, he must lie down there. Maybe he is rich man’s son or born in rich nation, but because he’s destined to suffer, he must lie down there. Because he’s destined to suffer, he must become a hippie.

Krsna is living everywhere but comes in a way we can see Him

May 8, 2015 in Articles, Damaghosa Dasa by Nityananda Rama dasa

Lectures : Srimad-Bhagavatam Lectures : Canto 1: Lectures : SB 1.8: Lectures : Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.8.37 — Los Angeles, April 29, 1973 : 730429SB.LA :
Kṛṣṇa is living everywhere—that is, that is the vision of the higher devotees. Actually He’s living, but still, because we are in thelower condition, we should know that here is Kṛṣṇa in the temple. Kṛṣṇa is everywhere, but for us, because we have no such vision to see Kṛṣṇa anywhere and everywhere, therefore we should come here in the temple and see Kṛṣṇa, “Here is Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa has kindly appeared here in a manner in which I can see Him. That is Kṛṣṇa’s mercy.” That is temple. We cannot see… Kṛṣṇa has completely spiritual body, but we have no eyes to see what is that spiritual body. Sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha [Bs. 5.1]. We are accustomed to see this material, jaḍa, gross things. We can see stone, we can see metal, we can see wood. We can see all these material elements. But Kṛṣṇa is everything. Therefore to be visible to our imperfect eyes, Kṛṣṇa has appeared in the stone form, but Kṛṣṇa is not stone. It is not that we are worshiping stone; we are worshiping Kṛṣṇa. But because we cannot see except stone, therefore Kṛṣṇa has kindly appeared in the form carved from the stone. This is the conclusion.

Krishna Consciousness is Genuine: A Logical Proof

May 8, 2015 in Articles, Narasimha Dasa by Nityananda Rama dasa

By Narasimha das

The following narrative is an example of how logic can be used to preach Krishna consciousness. Logic is accepted as evidence in the process of sankhyayoga, which is a spiritual science originally taught by Lord Kapila Deva and Sri Matsya Avatar.

Recently I met a man who challenged me, saying, “I read on the internet that there are now 32 concocted variations of the Hare Krishna movement.  This makes me think that it’s just another crazy cult. Before, I had some interest in the Krishna movement, but now I don’t trust it.”

I told this man that the internet is full of gossip and misinformation and he could better judge the authenticity of the movement by reading Srila Prabhupada’s original books.

He then mentioned he had also read on the internet that the books had been changed.

I told him the originals versions were still available if he was serious to learn the truth about the process and mission of Krishna consciousness.

He wasn’t convinced. “How could something genuine and potent create such a plethora of bogus cults?” he asked.

“First of all,” I explained, “you may consider that just because there are several unauthorized versions of the Hare Krishna mission, this doesn’t mean they are all bogus. It may be that most are bogus but not all. To understand which ones are genuine, you need the good fortune to get the association of sincere practitioners. To understand who is genuine you need to study Srila Prabhupada’s many books.”

This man was still suspicious. He said, “Life is too busy and short for such lengthy research. I just wanted a simple formula and mantra to go with.”

“Well,” I said, “the Hare Krishna Mantra is the simple mantra you need. But for the quickest results you need to chant it according the simple formula Srila Prabhupada and Lord Chaitanya instructed.”

“Otherwise… what?” he challenged. “It’s not authorized? It’s useless?”

“Not useless,” I said, “but less quickly effective than when chanted according the instructions of a self-realized soul.” Read the rest of this entry →
