The direct process is sarva-guhyatamam bhuyah srnu me paramam vacah

isto ‘si: “I am disclosing this most confidential part of My

instruction unto you,” isto ‘si, “because I love you.” Isto ‘si me

drdham iti. “Because I am confident that you are My confidential

friend.” Drdham iti tato vaksyami te hitam: “Therefore I am disclosing

this to you.”

Krsna does not say everyone that sarva-dharman parityajya, only to

a selected devotee. Because unless one is very highly elevated

devotee, he cannot accept this proposition. He is puffed up with his

material,  contaminated life. That’s all. “I am this. I am that. I am

this. I am that. Why shall I surrender?” Actually they forgot. Dr.

Radhakrishnan says, “This is sophistry, that Krsna is demanding like

that.” He is proud of his becoming a great philosophy, but he does not

know he is a fool number one. He comments on the Bhagavad-gita in a

different way. That he does not know. Therefore he is surprised: “How

this gentleman, Krsna, is asking to surrender? I am so proud. I am so

learned.” But this is the only process. What is that? He again

explains it: man-mana bhava mad-bhaktah. The same thing which was

instructed in the Ninth…

man-mana bhava mad-bhakto

mad-yaji mam namaskuru

mam evaisyasi satyam te

pratijane priyo ‘si me

Priyo ‘si me: “Because you are My very dear friend, you have fully

surrendered unto Me, therefore I am speaking to you.” Then He says,

sarva-dharman parityajya

mam ekam saranam vraja

aham tvam sarva-papebhyo

moksayisyami ma sucah

These three verses are the ultimate instruction of Bhagavad-gita,

sarva-guhyatamam.

So people do not understand, and they read Bhagavad-gita daily. And

they are very much proud: “I am reading Bhagavad-gita daily.” If

anyone actually reads Bhagavad-gita, then he will be Krsna conscious.

It is meant for that purpose. But they do not read actually. They

simply make a show. Neither do they understand what is Bhagavad-gita.

Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gita as it is. Is that all right?

So we have to preach in that spirit.

What is the next program? (end)

The Marriage (Vivaha) of Srimati Tulsi Devi and Lord Hari (Krsna)

Hare Krsna to all

Pranams
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
Yesterday, we celebrated (in a modified way) the wedding of Lord Krsna with  His eternal consort, Srimati
Tulsi Devi. Although in Hindu society these things can go on for a week or  more, sometimes boring, even the bride and groom, we pulled it off in a   few short hours.(American style).
The story about Tulsi devi, along with Sudama  the cowherd friend of  Krsnas, and how they came to this material world due to the curse of  Radhika, , both who received this same curse, is a wonderful one and one that is  certainly worth reading. It shows  how the spiritual world is anything but  dull as there are no people hanging around there just playing harps,in  white robes, like some “religious” commentators like to speculate. This  pastime or lila of the Lord and His associates shows us how intricate and  complex is the Internal Pleasure giving Energy of Lord Krsna and how His  associates are not in any way ordinary “devotees”.
Google the “story of Tulsi” and see what you find. Read the rest of this entry →

What they have done is to CUNNINGLY DEVICE A WAY HOW TO GET RID OF SRILA PRABHUPADA AS CURRENT DIKSA GURU. If you study they WAY of INTERPOLATION done by Jayadvaita and company they wanted to make it sound as if there were MANY DIKSA gurus so they DEVIOUSLY inserted “they”
And another TRICK was to put in an ADDED sentence:
” Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in spiritual life.”

Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soulS can impart knowledge unto you because THEY have seen the truth. Read the rest of this entry →

Chanting AND Deity worship—SP

Hare Krsna to all
Pranams
All glories to Srila Prabhupada

What follows is parts of a lecture by Srila Prabhupada where he gives us
practical information on how to get out of this material predicament. And there are only two things we
need to do– in the “beginning”.
Chant Hare Krsna and worship Krsna, that’s all. Or ,just chant Hare Krsna.
Here are some of the topics he makes….

1. Everyone should daily chant Hare Krsna and that will take care of everything.
2. For those a little less entangled, Deity worship is essential. Why? He says-Automatic purification.
3. If we just chanted, few would come to temples. So gorgeous temple worship required for masses.
4. Arcana viddhi and Bhagavat viddhi-both introduced by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta and Prabhupada. Each
way helps the other way.Like two hands rubbing each other.
5. Without Pancaratriki viddhi (deity worship) ones polluted mind and body cannot be purified easily.
6. Hearing Srimad Bhagavatam daily (not for 7 days only) but every day- is absolutely necessary.
7. By daily hearing SB, worshipping deity and chanting Hare Krsna ones mind becomes pacified and
tranquil, or peaceful. From this state of goodness one can understand Krsna, otherwise it is not possible.

Our, this temple worship, Deity worship, we are
following the principles of Deity worship because our acaryas
established temple, but main principle is chanting. Therefore,
whatever we are doing, we offering prasadam to the Lord, we are having
mangalarati, the main principle is chanting Hare Krsna mantra. This
temple worship, it can be avoided, but we cannot avoid chanting Hare
Krsna mantra
. As such, we have introduced in several centers that

“Begin with Hare Krsna mantra, keeping the picture of Guru-Gauranga.”
If it is not possible to worship the Deity according to the rules and
regulation, there is no need of establishing temple. But if there are
devotees who can actually keep the temple worship method in right
order, then… Otherwise, simple, by chanting, everything is complete
.

But when there is temple worship, there is automatic purification
because we have to rise early in the morning, we have to take bath.
This kind of purification help…, is helped by temple worship. But
when there is grossest type of people who cannot take to this, simply
chanting will do. Hari namanukirtanam
. Kalau tad, kali, kalau. Kalau,

means this age, that cleanliness is very difficult to maintain.
Therefore kalau tad dhari-kirtanat. This is recommended.

So we accept the authorities of Vyāsa. And from Vyāsa, Madhvācārya; from Madhvācārya, so many disciplic succession, up to Mādhavendra Purī. Then Mādhavendra Purī to Īśvara Purī; from Īśvara Purī to Lord Caitanyadeva; from Lord Caitanyadeva to six Gosvāmīs; from six Gosvāmīs to Kṛṣṇadāsa  Kavirāja; from him, Śrīnivāsa Ācārya; from him, Viśvanātha Cakravartī;  from him, Jagannātha dāsa Bābājī; then Gaura Kiśora dāsa Bābājī; Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura; my spiritual master. The same thing, we are preaching. That is Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. It is nothing  new. It is coming down from the original speaker, Kṛṣṇa, by disciplic  succession. So we are reading this Bhagavad-gītā. Not that I have manufactured some book and I am preaching. No. I am preaching Bhagavad-gītā. The same Bhagavad-gītā  as it was first spoken forty millions of years ago to the sun-god and  again it was repeated five thousand years ago to Arjuna. The same thing  is coming down by disciplic succession, and the same thing is presented  before you. There is no change.  Read the rest of this entry →

Don’t give up– this chanting Hare Krsna Maha Mantra-SP‏

SP-025Hare Krsna to all
Pranams
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
Below , in two paragraphs, Prabhupada explains the inner workings of  chanting the Lords Holy Names.
He gives the three stages of chanting-offensive, clearing or  offenseless, and love of God stage.
So we should continue to chant these sacred divine names of God and the  result will come.
Hare Krsna

710115SB.ALL                    Lectures                   229620/530501    So the Visnudutas say that “Even though one has  committed so many sinful activities, if at the…, if once he utters the holy  name of Narayana, he becomes free immediately.” That’s a fact. It is  not exaggeration. A sinful man, someway or other, if he chants this  Hare Krsna mantra, he immediately becomes free from all reaction. But the difficulty is that he commits again. That is namaparadha,  offense. There are ten kinds of offenses. This is the severest  offense, that after being freed from all sinful reaction by chanting Hare  Krsna mantra, if he again commits the same sin, that is a grievous  criminal action. For ordinary man it may not be so severe, but one who  is chanting Hare Krsna mantra, if he takes advantage of this mantra,  that “Because I am chanting Hare Krsna mantra, even though I commit  some sin, I’ll be free,” he’ll be free, but because he is offender he  will not achieve the ultimate goal of chanting Hare Krsna mantra.  Because he’ll be freed, and again he’ll commit–freed, again he’ll  commit–in this way there will be no chance of his  liberation. But don’t think that by chanting Hare Krsna mantra  one’s sinful reactions are counteracted. That is not exaggeration. That’s a  fact. The difficulty is that one chants Hare Krsna mantra, again commits  sin, that is greatest sin. That is the greatest offense. Read the rest of this entry →

‘Srila Prabhupada’s Departure’

by GPD

“Tomorrow we will go to Vrindavan; better to die in Vrindavan.” Those are the words of Srila Prabhupada in Hrsikesh in May of 1977. We were there trying to regain Srila Prabhupada’s failing health on the advice of a good friend and life member in Bombay, Mahadeviya Kartikeya. Things were going good in Hrsikesh until one stormy night. Srila Prabhupada was up all night and at about 2:30am he made that statement to Upendra Prabhu who came downstairs and woke the rest of us up with the devastating news that Srila Prabhupada wanted to go to Vrindavan to leave his body. We were not at all ready for the disappearance of Srila Prabhupada. Losing Srila Prabhupada’s personal presence would seem to be the end of the best thing that ever happened to us.

The power had been going off and back on all night with the storm. It was like the description of the beginning of this age of Kali in the Srimad Bhagavatam.

Srila Prabhupada’s health had started to deteriorate at the 1977 Goura Pournima Festival. He canceled a few of his scheduled classes and events. The devotees who came from all over the world started to worry about and pray for the health of Srila Prabhupada our ever well wishing spiritual master. Read the rest of this entry →

PHALGUN KRISHNA PANCAMI By His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada [Five prayers glorifying special characteristics of Srila 108 Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakura. Presented on the commemoration of his appearance, by His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, at Radha Damodara temple, Vrindavana, India in 1961].

First Vasistya

1. On this day, O my master, I made a cry of grief; I was not able to tolerate the absence of my guru.

2. On this auspicious day I have come with this offering just to worship you, remembering your lotus feet.

3. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s judgment is that renunciation is most important. Not only that, but such knowledge of renunciation must be delivered to every conditioned being.

4. The beginner in devotional service has no ability to solve this dilemma, but you are a mahabhagavata, you have given us direction.

5. One bewildered by ignorance, what kind of renunciate can he be? He will only be a “phalgu-vairagi”; renouncing externally.

6. Renunciation is actually the result of real spiritual emotion. Without such feeling it is simply known as “show bottle”. Read the rest of this entry →

Krsna, His name, His fame, His attributes, His activities… Sri-krsna-namadi na bhaved… Namadi means “beginning from the holy name.” So not possible… So if we keep ourself on the material platform, then for thousand years we may chant, it will be difficult. That is called namaparadha. Of course, holy name is so powerful that even by chanting with offense, gradually he becomes pure. Therefore we should not give up chanting. Any circumstances, we should go on chanting Hare Krsna. But the warning is that if we keep us on the material platform, then it will be not possible to understand Krsna, His holy name, His attribute, His form, His activities. It will not be possible.
